Hey, baby!

As a small, gray spider of literary fame once said:

"Salutations!"

We (meaning Jason, Heather & soon-to-be baby Clenney) welcome you to our little online nest.  We hope to post a constant stream of happy news for you during the course of our pregnancy and on into baby's first days home!

For the sake of visitors who don't talk to us on a daily basis, here's a crash course on the whos and whys of this blog:

Who the heck are these people?

We're a young couple from a small central Arkansas town who are anxiously awaiting the birth of our first child.  We've been happily married for four and a half years, most of which we've spent in Grant County.  He's a music and youth minister at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan, and I'm a bank teller.  We reside just down the highway from work(which in rural terms, translates to approximately twenty miles away) in Leola, where we live a fairly idyllic life caring for our eight pygmy goats (see our farm: Sassafras Pygmys), two pugs, and an eighteen pound wad of fur and fat that someone once told us is a cat.

So, what's with the blog name?

It's a nod to my late Grandma Bennett, who once made it known that she would be thrilled if one of her grandchildren would name a daughter after her beloved sister, Minnie.  Given the fact that Grandma adored my husband (not to mention that she was very appreciative of a fine lookin' man, and he's a fox!), I'm sure that she would forgive him for rejecting the option due to the rhymey-ness of his name.  Let's face it, folks -- Minnie Clenney ain't happening.  However, there are other names of both genders from her side of the family that are pretty high on the list of contenders at this point in time.

And what's wrong with your hair?

Follicular insanity, I know.  It's big.  It's red.

It's nature's little warning.

More updates tomorrow!  Thanks for touching base with us!

Wave bye-bye, Mini Clenney!

(Inter-uterine wave commencing ....now.)

This sweet picture of my great-grandmother, Maggie Pearl Stamps Yarborough, is an internet miracle I happened upon online.  Thanks, long-lost cousin Yarborough, wherever you may be!

That little round head!  Those wide, light eyes!  Wouldn't it be sweet if Mini Clenney looked much like her?
